SHAREHOLDERS MEETING HELD JUNE 12TH

At the shareholders meeting, Mark Chugg withdrew his name from voting as a member of the Board of Directors.  Alan Edwards, Gene Merrick and Jim Roberts were voted in for three year term on the Board of Directors. 

At the Board meeting following the shareholders meeting, Tom Bardsley was elected President of the Board.

Alan Edwards   -  Alan and his wife live in Sweetwater HOA and feel a strong connection and interest in its future.  His career was in insurance and risk management. He was a commercial property and casualty underwriter in New York City. Alan was Director of Risk Management for the Universityof Utah for 10 years and for the State of Utah for over 20 years. He served on the Board of Directors for Workers Compensation Fund of Utah.  He was president of the Utah Chapter of the Risk and Insurance Management Society and of the State Risk and Insurance Management Association.  He earned his MBA from the University of Utah.

Gene Merrick  -  Gene has been an owner of a cabin in Sweetwater HOA for 24 years.  During this time he has been on the Board of Diorectors for over 20 years and President for 7 years.  Gene served as Secretary & Treasurer for the past 7 years for the Bear Lake Water Company.  He  has played a major roll in the planning and development of SGCHA into what it is today.  Gene is an active member with the Lion’s Club in this community.

Jim Roberts  -  Jim has been a cabin owner for over 20 years and has enjoyed being apart of the Association’s Board.  He understands the issues we are facing and has a deep committment for the future of organization.  Jim is a licensed contractor for over 30 years, building residential and commercial properties. He has been the owner of several businesses such as GT Leasing, Sterling World Travel, Cinefour Theaters, ARC Inc. and has served on their board of directors.  Jim believes the most important reason in serving is his love for Bear Lake and keeping the quality of life for all owners, both full and seasonal resident, at the highest standard possible to maintain the value we all enjoy.

    Do we have any updates to the reinstatement of water rights? I recall something about a 1979 request that we are trying to revive, being brought up at the June meeting?
